Koh Ker Temple ( The Pyramid Temple )

Koh Ker is northeast of siem reap , 100km away from siem reap.  represent of the remnants of the capital of the Khmer Empire from 928 AD - 944 AD ,  it was built by the king Jayavarman IV . It is very unique period in the age of Angkor . it would remain there for almost 500 years with one brief interruption. it is an impressive royal city at koh ker of Brahmanic monoumens, Prasats & Temples surrounding by a huge Baray (The reservoir ) Rahal . Prasat Thom that we call the Pyramid Temple , have 7 tiered . The king Jayavarman IV reigned at Koh Ker almost for 20 years before he died in 941 AD and his son Hashavarman II would remain at Koh ker for 3 years more before moved the capital back to angkor area. There are many temple at Koh ker such as : Prasat Pram , Prasat Thom , Prasat Neang Khau , Linga at brasat Balang , Prasat Thneng ....... The best photographed is in the morning and offeringa bird's eye view from the top of Prasat Thom .
